PROJECT FUNDRAISING

Students and faculty participating in The Guadalajara Service Learning Project are grateful to the following people organizations for their assistance in fundraising and donations:

Fair Trade Coffee

  • The Project Group enjoyed brewing and selling coffee as well as grinding and selling whole beans. The Fair Trade Coffee website is at http://www.crsfairtrade.org/coffee_project/index.htm
  • Thank you to NDNU faculty, staff and students who continue to support our project by buying fair trade coffee.

RAFT - Resource Area for Teachers

  • Thank you to Santa Clara's Resource Area for Teachers to providing a gift certificate to purchase stickers, puzzles, and other art materials for Project Students and clipboards and pens for Project Student Helpers.

See's Candy

  • The Guadalajara Service Learning Project was successful in using the Sees fundraising services. We appreciated working with our local Redwood City branch.
  • Thank you to NDNU faculty, staff and students who continue to support our project by buying See's candy.

Rotary Club

  • We thank the Rotary Club of San Carlos for providing assistance for students in Summer 2005 and Summer 2006.
  • Many thanks to Rotary of Belmont for being instrumental in our receiving a grant from Rotary International.

Special Thanks

  • Special thanks to all those NDNU Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, and students on campus who have supported our project with small monetary donations over the years and have made the project possible. You "grass roots support" has added up to project success. We thank you.
  • Thank you to Rachel Walton and Joan Rossi in the Department of Education and Leadership for coordinating with our wonderful NDNU Bookstore for the donation of NDNU neck straps to hold the special pens for our Mexican Student Assistants, paid for by the NDNU Department of Education and Leadership.
  • Special thanks to Sr. Jeanette Braun, SND, for her donation of teaching materials.
  • Thanks so much to Athletic Director, Josh Doody, who donated NDNU athletic gear for the children of the community.
  • Thank you to Instruction Media Center coordinator, Mary Holst, in the San Mateo-Foster City School District IMC, for allowing us to check out Spanish books and puppets and take them all the way to Mexico (and back!)
